Moving Out + Update!

So if you haven't read already, I'm moving out of my current apartment. And as I stated in my last post, I generally like moving. But I'm starting to think that this may be the move that makes me change my tune. ;) I have been leaving work early all week to pack and move things over to Scott's house (I'm staying there for a week or so until our new place is ready). I have been living in yoga pants, workout tanks, sports bras, and tennis shoes. That may sound like the comfiest week ever, but I'm over it. I'm ready to wear a dress, a skirt, a real bra! TMI? What can I say... ;)

One great thing about moving is the clean out. Moving provides this perfect opportunity to really examine and sift through the crap you've accumulated since your last move. I'm proud to say that I didn't accumulate too much in the last year, aside from an abundance of leftover craft supplies. I still went through a lot of the things I haven't used in the past year though, which is always cleansing. I'm donating three garbage bags of clothes, sheets, and shoes, along with a large box of DVDs, a box of books, and a number of old furniture pieces. The great thing about the digital world is that we don't have to hang on to things like DVDs and books, am I right? And I hate being bogged down by stuff. Clothes I bought and never wore? No need to keep them. I blame my Old Navy discount for all those super cheap clothing purchases. Who can resist a pair of green skinny jeans for $8? Not me, apparently.

Unfortunately, I strained my back pretty bad today packing and moving boxes around my apartment. Ouch. I'm currently all cozied up on the couch with heat pads, haha. So soothing... I'm hoping it's better by tomorrow, cause this girl's got more movin' to do!

Now, remember, Google Reader subscribers, Google Reader is bitin' the dust in just a few days!
I've switched over to Feedly for my subscriptions, and Bloglovin' is a great option too. Both offer seamless integration from Google Reader. I did reviews on both earlier (Feedly // Bloglovin') if you want to read more about them.

To keep following my crafty and not-so-crafty ramblings, here are some options for you! --->

Decorating Dreams

1 // 2 // 3 (bad link)
Call me crazy, but I love moving... Don't get me wrong, I am not stoked to move (more) boxes and mattresses up and down stairs in the sweltering heat and humidity that just decided to settle over the mitten state... But I'm willing to sweat it out for a few days because a new space gets me so excited. I love switching my scenery. It makes me feel free and alive and ever-changing. A new space for a fresh me.

My style and tastes change seasonally too, and I have finally accepted that I am just a sucker for a good trend. What can I say? ;) So with each move I have new color palettes and ideas swimming around my skull. I thought I'd share a few inspiring spaces from my Pinterest boards with y'all today. Not only are these pretty, but sharing them is also helping me narrow down my favorites from my massive and overcrowded pin boards... Anybody else find weird stuff on your pin boards once in a while and think, "Ew, why did I pin that?!" Oh, just me? Maybe it's time for a clean out... ;)

I'm loving lots of white with bold contrast... Bright colors & lots of light. What spaces inspire you? Please share, because I seriously can't get enough. ;)

**some images had bad or sucky links above (thanks Pinterest...), so if you have the original sources, holla atcha girl.**

Crochet Planter Covers

Hi friends :) I made some pretty crochet planter covers accented with more neon cord! I'm sharing the free pattern over at Tania's blog, so check it out and leave some love from over here! There's more photos too, of course.

I love the contrast in texture, and the way the neon pops. Even boyfriend likes them, which is nuts. So I figure they must be pretty decent. ;) I've been wanting to get some plants for my place for a while now... And I'm just hoping these live, hah!

Do you have any indoor plants? Have any pointers on what grows well inside, and how to keep them alive?

Recharge ♥

Like I said in my last post, life has been a ball of stress lately. My first round of summer courses have come to a close, and with that a giant cloud of homework has dissipated as well. I love how quickly summer courses end, but man, are they ever intense... I feel like I've been writing a paper ever night for the past six weeks. It's really put a cramp in my crafty style. ;)

Outside of school stresses, I've been dealing with a lot of ups and downs regarding my living situation (darn leasing office)... I won't bore you with details, but my apartment complex is a pain. I may need to move out in two weeks time and then I'll have about two weeks between moving out and moving into the new place. Anddd I haven't packed anything. Like, at all. Andddd I got it into my head that I should do lots of fun DIY projects before moving. Silly me (that's not happening!)

Last night, I got home from work and immediately started thinking about all the things I needed to do, which quickly got overwhelming. I soon realized that I was just burnt out. I had finally finished my classes, I had met a few crafty deadlines, and I was just beat. So I curled up on the couch, watched Supernatural, and did not craft. I cannot tell you how rare that is for me... To watch TV & not multitask?! That's wild. But it was so refreshing.

So this weekend is about recharging my batteries. I may comb Pinterest and do a little casual brainstorming. I may organize some junk around my apartment. I may fiddle with a project. But I am first and foremost going to relax. Today I gave myself a pedicure. I'm telling you... It's a wild weekend. ;)

How do you relax after a busy, tiring season?

Stressin' to da MAX

This is the most embarrassing photo I've ever intentionally posted to the internet. BUT THIS IS HOW I FEEL, FRIENDS! ;) I have so many things on my plate right now and it's making me a little bananas. Scott and I were watching TV while I was crafting tonight, I went into my room to put on my PJs (a.k.a. CRAFTY PANTS), and just collapsed on the bed, hahaha. CRAFTY MELTDOWN.

Why, you may ask? Well, I'm really not one to get stressed about things. But it's like things just always come all at once, ya know? Good things, don't get me wrong. Things I'm super excited about. Things that make me so, so happy. But things that take time, and this girl's only got so much of that, ya dig? ;)

I just finished one project that really wasn't a huge project, but it was like all of a sudden I had to do this high stakes project that I didn't really have a solid vision for, and I only had a few days to pull it off. Yikes. But now it's done, so I can breathe a little easier. On to homework, bloggy commitments, new projects, and prepping for new adventures! :)

What stresses you out, friends? Got any giant projects on your plate these days?

Neon Crochet Jar Cozies

Beautiful readers, I cannot tell you how excited I am that this is my 100th post! More on that later. Right now, I'm just letting you know about the most recent thing I made: neon crochet jar cozies from nylon cord!

I'm kind of obsessed with them. I love neon. I love mason jars. And I love the hardware store, which is where I bought this cord. I've seen bunches of projects using this cord, and I am always jealous of others' creativity. Maybe that's silly. But I got dat craft envy real bad, y'all. ;)

Plus, the cording feels so much "summerier" than regular yarn, ya dig? Check out my little tutorial over at ThinkCrafts. It's barely a pattern... It seems like I was lazy in writing it, but I really did improvise and I encourage you to do the same! The basics are on ThinkCrafts though, I promise. Check it out for the details! :)
